Project Coordinator (Temporary Contract)

This is a temporary contract until December 2024 (with possibility of extension).

We are looking for a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for the successful implementation of new regulatory guidelines across third party management, operational resilience and operational risk management.

This role offers the unique opportunity to gain insights into the complexity of regulatory requirements across the Canadian business. In the role as Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, executing and driving the successful delivery of the project within the timeline. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to manage complex projects across different functions.

About the Role: 

As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and define project goals, scope and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

  • Lead and coordinate the project team to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are upheld.

  • Preparing and documenting the programme governance and decision-making processes

  • Reporting the progress and escalating the progress and potential risks to the programme and its workstreams 

  • Facilitating alignment and collaboration across the programme (including but not limited to: work-stream leads, subject matter experts, project steering board) and its stakeholders 

  • Reviewing and ensuring quality and consistency in the programme deliverables and documentation 

  • Using and maintaining the programme management tools and methodologies 

  • Having oversight of the progress and quality of the program and ensuring that we deliver within the agreed timeframe  

About the Team:

One of Branch Operations’ responsibilities is accountability to drive activities across the branch operating platform on behalf of the Chief Agent for the Canadian Branch, focusing on cross functional efforts.  Branch Operations leads the implementation of regulatory guidelines, including building on, developing and operationalizing new or amendments to existing regulatory guidelines. 

About You: 

    A bachelor's degree or equivalent in business administration, management, or a related field 
    At least 3 years of experience in project or programme management, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry 
    Strong knowledge and skills in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices 
    Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills 
    High attention to detail, quality, and accuracy 
    Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as in a team 
    Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and environments 
    Fluency in English, both written and spoken
