Non Tech Subject Matter Expert

About the Team
 
General Ledger Accounting Services (GLAS) team is responsible for supporting global scope of entities within Swiss Re Group according to internal guidelines, IFRS and local accounting policies and tax requirements. As a member of the team, you support legal entity accounting and closing activities, specifically for taxes and intragroup agreements. You seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes and collaboration with our partners.
 

About the Role
 
Main responsibilities:
 
You will provide timely and accurate advisory support on taxes, especially VAT, direct taxes and trademark license fees (TMLF) agreements. You ensure compliance with Swiss Re Group guidelines and policies, data quality production and coordination with various internal and external stakeholders. You act as a subject matter expert for and on behalf of the GLAS team.
 

You also will:

•   Coordination of processes in scope, processes designs, controls, roles and responsibilities definition
•   Identify process improvement opportunities for existing process and controls
•   Cooperation and support of the VAT teams, Tax teams for local specific adjustments 
•   Ensuring TMLF process is reported accurately with ad hoc coordination with local finance teams or transfer pricing tax team, as needed
•   Preparation of accounting memos and materiality assessment
•   Coordinating meetings with major internal stakeholders and GLAS team
•   Communication with external and internal auditor on Group audit queries
•   Communication with the BUs, Group reporting production team and External reporting on their queries related to Group IFRS numbers 
•   Assisting non-technical accounting team with business-as-usual activities or ad hoc tasks in capacity of an expert
•   Participation in cross-functional projects

About You 
 
We are looking for an engaged and motivated teammate with good communication skills.
 
Essentials:
 
•   4+ years proven experience as a Financial accountant or similar
•   Knowledge and experience of VAT and direct taxes is an advantage
•   Proven experience in decision support which includes development of proposals/solutions, stakeholder management and written & oral communication and presentations, with focus on accounting or reporting advisory and analysis
•   Manages multiple priorities and competing demands. Acts resourcefully to ensure that work is completed within specified time and quality targets
•   Analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output under tight deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the big picture and underlying business
•   Ability to work independently, in a target-oriented environment
•   Fluent in English (written and spoken)
 

Nice to have:
 
•   SAP experience is an advantage
 

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2 000 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
