About the Role

As the Head of GLAS, you will lead the General Ledger (GL) Non-Technical Accounting team to deliver timely and accurate financial results. You will manage various change projects and ensure a stable financial closing process. Additionally, you will engage with senior management to align expectations, resolve issues, and develop the operating model.
 

Key Responsibilities:

•   Lead the General Ledger Accounting team effectively.
•   Maintain compliance with internal controls, ensuring accounting and reporting delivery for all legal entities under local statutory and IFRS policies.
•   Collaborate with Finance Asset Management, Global Carrier Management, Group Reporting, Tax,  HR and the wider finance operations teams.
•   Ensure operational excellence in quarterly closings through continuous improvement, including task automation, process harmonization, and elimination of unnecessary controls.
•   Drive alignment and optimization of closing processes within GFO&T.
•   Provide audit support and oversight of non-technical key projects and initiatives following IFRS adoption.
•   Communicate effectively with partners to ensure alignment on common goals and expectations, including stakeholders at all levels.
•   Development of  talents and strategic planning of resources.

 

About You

You possess strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with proven leadership abilities in guiding international and cross-functional teams. You excel in influencing and driving initiatives in a complex, multi-location environment.
 

Additional Requirements:

•   Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, or Reporting activities, with a proven track record in GL accounting.
•   Solid understanding of SAP systems and processes.
•   Comprehensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for non technical processes.
•   Ability to work under pressure.
•   Excellent command of English (spoken and written).

 

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 4,000 EUR full-time. Our final offer will be fair, considering the skills and experience you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits, including an attractive performance-based bonus.
