Engineering Manager – Identity Access Management (IAM)

As the Engineering Manager for Identity and Access Management, you'll be responsible for the architectural design and overseeing the technical design and implementation of improvements to our application landscape. About the team

The Security Team is the focal point for all security activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for cybersecurity engineering and operations, governance, risk and compliance. We define and advance the company's security strategy. As a part of the Security Team, the Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineering team provides systems for managing user identities and access to Swiss Re information and digital services. We're looking for an experienced professional to help us deliver Swiss Re's Identity & Access Management landscape – to meet the challenging business needs from stakeholders while integrating industry-related security best practices and complying with regulatory and governance requirements. In your role, you will…

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IAM team, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and practices. 
  • Ensure IAM services & infrastructure is compliant with relevant standards and requirements. 
  • Establish and enforce standards and best practices for IAM to ensure high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions. 
  • Ensure that IAM solutions comply with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. 
  • Oversees and guides the resolution of operational problems in the IAM solutions portfolio. 
  • Contributes to the collaboration and knowledge sharing within the CSO engineering disciplines. 
  • Has overall delivery responsibility for the IAM services & solutions portfolio. 
  • Oversee projects and programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. 
  • Acts as the direct line manager for Team Leads. 
  • Oversees the HR strategy for the IAM engineering disciplines; Identify skills gaps within the team and ensure appropriate training and development plans are in place to address these.  
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and career paths. 
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the IAM team and broader organisation. 

What we need from you

  • Extensive practical experience as an application developer & system engineer 
  • Profound understanding of modern software development principles (i.e. DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, Defensive Programming, etc.) and cloud-based solution infrastructure 
  • Broad background in designing and implementing IAM solutions. 
  • Deep end-to-end understanding of the IAM security discipline and its processes. 
  • Passion, drive and a belief in the value of Identity & Access Management as an enabler of business performance. 
  • Self-starter with can-do attitude. 
  • Solid understanding of enterprise-scale identity & access management concepts 
  • Belief in continuous innovation, curiosity, and relentlessly looking for a better way everyday. 
  • Ability to analyse, structure and present complex technical topics towards different audiences on diverse technical levels ranging from operations personnel to the CxO level. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in spoken and written English 

Nice-to-have

  • Skills and experience in software engineering, application architecture, API architecture, IT service management and with different cloud platforms (Azure, Ali, AWS, etc.) and/or IdPs (identity providers) 
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, Mathematics, or comparable 
  • PAM knowledge (CyberArk) 
  • SailPoint Certification 
  • SANS GIAC, CISSP, CCSP, or similar qualification 
  • Technical skills & experience with security audits, penetration testing, or offensive security 
  • Solid knowledge in governance, risk, and compliance in a highly regulated industry 
  • Past experience working in an agile environment.
